Imagery On/Off
- If this button is pressed, the Ortho Photography will display on the mapping if the scale is set between 100 and 75000. Keep in mind that your map display will be slower when viewing Ortho Photography. It is best if you find the area you are interested in first and then turn on the Ortho Photography.

Full Extent
- This button will take the map display back to the full view of the Map. Map layers that you were viewing may not appear on the display if they were scale dependant.

Zoom In
- To zoom into an area, click on the zoom in tool, then either click once on the mapping to zoom in gradually, or draw a box by clicking inside the display and holding down the left mouse button to drag a box over the area you wish to zoom in to.

Zoom Out
- Zoom out works in the opposite way of Zoom in. Click once inside the mapping to zoom out gradually, or draw a box to zoom out.

Pan
- This button will allow you to move the map display in any direction. Click on the Pan tool, then click and hold on the mapping dragging the mapping in the direction you would like.

Previous Map
- This will take you back to the previous map display you were looking at. So, if you zoomed in to an area and realized it wasn't quite where you wanted to be, you can click this to go back to where you were on the map before.

Identify
- This tool is used to get more information about the features showing on the map. For each application, a default map layer has been selected. When you use this tool, the application will try to find information from the default map layer. If this is not the layer you are interested in, a dropdown list will be available for you to select the layer you want more information about. To use this tool, click on it, then click inside the map on the feature you are interested in. For example, if you want more information about an arena, make sure arenas are visible, then click directly on the arena map feature.

Clear Selection
- This tool will allow you to clear any selected features that are highlighted with text or outlining. It will also clear any points you have added with "Add my Point" tool.

Print
- This will create a "Printer Friendly" map of the area you are currently viewing.

Email this Map
- If you would like to send an email of the current map you are viewing, this button will allow you to do this. You will be prompted to enter some information - the fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory.

Legend
- To view a legend of the current mapping, click on this button. The legend shows the symbology and a text description of the map layer.

Overview Map
- This button will pop up an overview map showing the full city outline as well as either an X or a box showing your map extent you are currently viewing.

Measure
- This button will pop up a window to select measure by area, measure by length or show coordinates. Select which feature you wish to use.
Area: Click on the mapping at the first coordinate you wish to use. Continue to click creating an area feature. The area will appear in the measure window area.
Length: Click on the mapping at the first coordinate you wish to use. Click the next coordinate somewhere else on the mapping and the length of the line you created will appear in the measure window. As you continue to click, the total length will be shown along with the length of the last segment you created.
Show Coordinate: As you click on the mapping, the X/Y coordinate of the point you click will be displayed.

Add My Point
- This feature is used to add labelling to the map display. The user can add a push pin, star or house feature, along with text to any area of the mapping. Using this, you can customize your map to look as you would like it.
Select the icon to use: the default Star, the Home or the Push Pin, enter text size and your label text (if using any) and click the Apply button. Now click on the map where you want the icon and/or label to appear.
Use the Clear Selection tool to clear any labels you add.

Selections
- This button will pop up a window to select by point or by area. Select which feature you wish to use.
Point: Click on the map the feature you wish to select. Click submit to select the feature. Click done when finished.
Area: Click on the map to draw the area you wish to select. Click submit to select the features. Click done when finished. |
